Mrs. Corporate America 2011 Lissette Cartagena Education: Bachelor degree in Science from University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, PR.Platform Issue: As a producer of Christian films, I firmly believe that true charities such as churches and non-profit organizations should benefit from the wealth of Hollywood. Churches have begun to realize this power in the movie making arena. Not only do Christians want movies with better content, but they want quality entertainment too. Instead of paying $10 to the box office, why don't hard working earners pass on those funds to churches during a film premier, that can be held in the Church itself? This vision not only will support movies I produce, but will also encourage filmakers to create more films of Christian content and positive messages for families today. Realizing this vision has been a struggle, and I'm in much need of support, but nevertheless, it's a doable goal and as Mrs. Corporate America, I will strive to make this vision a reality and help change the way we view Christian films today.Career Accomplishments: After leading a successful career as a Sales Manager for HSBC for 14 years, I became a mother of three little ones and decided to make a change. I felt the need to create, produce and sell something meaningful. When my brother, who is a film writer, presented me the idea of "The Message" film, I found myself guided by God himself. I was meant to produce this movie and it had to have a purpose. "The Message" today has reached many people in profound ways. That has been my most precious career accomplishment. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?: If I could live anywhere, it would be Italy. Although its very far from my family and my roots, I find it's a country full of history and culture. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would they be?: If I could meet anyone in the world, it would be Steven Spielberg. Movies are a powerful message delivery system. People live many emotions via what they see and hear in a movie. I feel that meeting someone who has reached such levels, like Mr. Spielberg, in the film industry, can only make me better at producing more movies that can reach the masses.Best advice you have ever been given: "Enjoy your children, everything else can wait. You will find yourself one day alone at home wishing they were making their little messes". My twin daughters, Maia and Lia are 9 years old, and my son, Ryan is 7 years old. As I look back and see how quick my children have grown, I firmly believe in maximizing the use of my time, so I can create memories that will last their lifetime.Who is your role model and why?: My parents are my role models. I look for their advice, even if it's not what I want to hear. They are big in promoting the family union and Christian values. I have learned so much from them; from parenting, to marriage, and success.Something interesting about you: I don't feel I'm much different from the lady next door. I have a beautiful family, I cherish my friends and enjoy gatherings. I'm known among my friends to be a little teacher mom. Although I do not home school my kids, I'm always looking for ways to teach them beyond current school topics and introduce my children to new subjects like banking, math tricks, careers, socializing, couples, family, etc.Three words that describe you best: Loyal.
